Dispose yourself to the long-term performance
One of the most successful Ukrainian investors Andrei Kolodyuk during his presentation, said: so to be pleased by someone who gives you money, you need to convince him of the seriousness of your intentions. Often start-up companies (even successful) throw the project after 3-5 years of its existence. They lose their enthusiasm for failures, or they are not able to scale the business after the local achievements. Investors have to understand that this problem will not happen with you.
Find your investor
Ukrainian IT expert Igor Pier, who now works in Israel, understands that when start-up company looking for money, he will take them from anyone. But this approach is wrong. Keep in mind that you will work with investor for several years, that is why he has to be your friend. If you feel aversion – go away.
The main thing is marketing
The investor wants to get money. He does not care how he will get them: by means of completely new idea or by localization project which is already invented. That is why first of all he will investigate your business plan. There should be defined scheme of promotion of the project and terms of profit. These figures are more important than any super new inventions if they will not be underpinned by the marketing side of the question.
Do not be afraid to talk about failures
Some of the start-up companies have failed projects. According to Andrei Kolodjuk such enthusiasts are afraid to talk about it. All for nothing: the investor will realize that you are not a “clean sheet”. Start-up companies that have failed projects, has a lot of experience under his belt, he’s made for himself necessary conclusions. Working on the next project, he didn’t stepped on the same rake, and this is plus for the investor.
Scan grants and hubs
Do not appeal to the investor, if you invent something or developed the idea. Perhaps at this point you will need not so big and long-term investments.
