Himalaya
A true Indian restaurant. Previously, it was located on Khreshchatyk, and now you can taste something sharp in front of Rukkola at Vasylkivska St. The interior is appropriate.
The owner is Indian, as well as the cooks and spices, the smell of which you feel right after entering. What draws attention is that the menu has a separate chapter of vegetarian dishes: vegetable balls in onion sauce (85 UAH), paneer in a nut and tomato sauce (95 UAH), and paneer with green peas in a sauce with spices (90 UAH). For those who prefer meat dishes, there are dishes from tandoori (clay oven looking like a constricted up vessels at the bottom of which smoldering hot coals are placed): minced lamb kebab with salad (110 UAH), chicken legs fried in tomato and soy sauce with garlic and salad (110 UAH), and spicy chicken with mint sauce (115 UAH). Garnish is represented by all kinds of Indian rice with and without vegetables. To have a wholesome dinner, you can try soups (55-80 UAH). You can taste traditional Indian sauces and cakes with fillings, too.
They say that after cook return from their vacation at home, the food becomes much sharper.
New Bombay Palace
A richer version of the Himalayas. Those who have been to India and tried the local cuisine praise Bombay Palace more. The interior corresponds to the name – you feel that you are in the palace of Maharaja, though outwardly institution looks like a big shop, lined with clapboard. Samos, cakes, soups (60-110 UAH), Tandoori dishes (meat, vegetables, paneer, chicken), dishes of potatoes (90-120 UAH). Portions are small. The most expensive dishes are prepared with shrimps, and their average price is about 130 UAH. Due to the national festive atmosphere, very often unusual weddings take place in the restaurant, as well as corporate parties and formal banquets.
Brazilian cuisine
Grill do Brazil
While it is complicated to call this one the authentic Brazilian restaurant, the place is perfect for meat eaters with its Rodizio dinner for 350 UAH. Under such supper system, there is unlimited grilled meats and salad bar. You should book a table in advance as the quantity of seating is limited. Sessions start at 6:30 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m. At lunchtime (1 p.m. – 3 p.m.) the cost of the meal amounts to 150 UAH. This cost includes grilled dishes, soup, and salads with a wide range of snacks.
Almost every week, there are days when not only meat is served while dinner. For example, the days of potatoes, eggs, seafood, and the Greek evening.
There is a Cork charge proposal: you have to pay 160 UAH for a bottle of wine.
Tequila House
Another elder in restaurant business of the capital. The atmosphere of eternal holiday is represented by the bright interior with hanging chili peppers, sombreros, cactuses, and of course, Mexican music. The assortment is represented by spicy foods. Quesadilla (70-80 UAH), Negro Grande nachos with black beans, smoked pork with cheese, sauce and sour cream Salsa (140 UAH). Mexican salads only, no Caesars or Olivier. For the first – traditional Mexican bean soup Acapulco (50 UAH). Among the national food – tacos (90 and 130 UAH), enchiladas with chicken (90 UAH), fajita (170-380 UAH), and chili Diablo (140 UAH). After all of this you can drink tequila, and there’s many of it. It is served even in meters (10 stacks of 50 ml).
Latin American Cuisine
Rancho El Gaucho
This hotel and restaurant complex is located on Okruzhna behind Vynogradar. Rancho is located in the forest, so in winter the view of pines snow covered just stirs the appetite.
Here dishes from different regions of Argentina and Mexico are collected. Quesadilla de Veracruz (74 UAH), fajitas (89 UAH), tacos (125 UAH), chili con carne (59 UAH), bean soup (30 UAH), corn soup (53 UAH), Argentine soup Takuma (53 UAH), salad Serrizhana (57 UAH), soup of beans, smoked bacon and smoked (53 UAH), guacamole (132 UAH), a large selection of meat dishes, some of which is prepared on an open fire.
Moroccan cuisine
Marrakesh
Pillows, patterned carpets, water pipes, carved furniture – this restaurant in Kiev attracts fans of Moroccan cuisine for many years. Maghreb is a self-name of a modern northwest African state of Morocco.
Despite the fact that even now there is sushi and oysters, Carpaccio and cheese plates, among the stakes and tiramisu, you can still find dishes from Eastern diversity. For example, couscous with shrimps, roasted peppers and vegetables (150 UAH), Moroccan cakes (65 UAH), tomato soup with lamb and beef with vegetables and herbs (50 UAH), couscous with lamb and spices (120 UAH) . Marrakesh is one of the few places where they cook Tazhin – with seafood in a creamy basil sauce (170 UAH), with beef, eggplant and olives (180 UAH).
And then you can smoke hookah, lounging on the couch colorful.
A visit to the hot places is a good idea for those who want to expand their culinary horizons without great cost, also for travelers who can’t fall asleep because of magical memories of the last vacations. Impressions are like the Arab spirits: strong, sweet, and stable.
