Artists from all over the world will gather at the ethno-festival in Kiev
On the May 19th-22th in Kiev will be the International Festival of Traditional Culture “Ethno World”. It will bring together musicians and masters of various crafts from Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.
Festival will be opened by Georgian vocal band which will perform songs in the technique of polyphonic singing. UNESCO has classified this unique form of singing to the intangible cultural heritage of the world.
The festival “Ethno World” will host exhibitions, film screenings, concerts of folk singing and dance ensembles, including the Estonian group EstoKihn, who will present the folklore of the island of Kihnu, in southern Estonia.
A separate program of the festival called “clay space” dedicated to the art of pottery, in which professional potters will give master classes, as well as an exhibition of ancient pottery found during excavations on the territory of Ukraine.
Visitors to the festival will be able to learn how to make puppets motanki create embroidery and join the classes of traditional dances of different nations.
Masters from different regions of Ukraine will present their products at the fair man-made, as well as familiarize with the process of their manufacture.
Festival “Ethno World” will be held in the capital’s “Mystetsky Arsenal.”
