Chekhov will appear in Sumy in a new way
From 13h to 20th May in Sumy will be held the fourth “Chekhov Fest” – Ukrainian Theatre Festival, which will come to such well-known actors like Alex Vertinsky, Stanislav Boklan and Oleg Stefan, who played the role of Baba Prisya in the popular eponymous play by Ukrainian playwright Paul Arie.
“The theme of the festival is the love in all its manifestations. Therefore, on our poster Chekhov is not alone, but with his wife Olga Knipper,”- says the author of the idea and the organizer of” Chekhov Festa “Vladimir Nyankin.
The festival will be attended by Sumy theaters, as well as guest performers – Young Theatre Kiev, Lviv Drama Theatre named after Lesya Ukrainka and Odessa theater of a name of cornflowers.
Vladimir Nyankin told about the main events of the festival, “Odessans show love for their city in the play” The city of my childhood, “Lviv Theatre presents” Baba Frosya “, whoich talks about love for the Earth, and the people of Kiev will present the various metamorphoses of love in the production of” Enigmatic Variations ” by E. Schmitt. ”
Also at the “Chekhov Fest” will play “Mother” by Karel Capek and product performance “PODKOLYOSIN” by Nikolai Gogol, directed by a resident of Kiev, Konstantin Dubinin. A separate program will make the work of young theater-goers in Sumy.
