Unique Ethnic parks Near Kyiv
If you don’t have time or desire to go far away, it doesn’t matter. There are also many interesting things not far from Kyiv. 30-150 kilometers isn’t far, right?
Buzova
The village in Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi area is situated 34 kilometers away from the capital. There is an ethnographic complex Ukrainian Village here. It was created to give people the opportunity to learn more about their culture. But the most interesting thing here is that you can touch all exhibits, twist things in your hands and examine them closely. You can sit down on a bench or a bed, take off a plate from the shelf, and try how an old iron actually weighs. To make a long story short, do something that isn’t allowed in museums.
You can have a picnic (after booking a place), taste delicious Ukrainian cuisine, book a tour, celebrate a wedding or corporate event or even pass a real quest. Also, there is a gift shop and even a hotel on the territory.
You can visit Ukrainian Village every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Masterclasses take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Getting here is easy – the bus No. 773 departs to Nikolayevka from under the bridge at Sviatoshyn metro station. Vertolitna station between villages Buzova and Mykolaivka is situated just in front of the complex.

Rzhyshchiv
Today, you can admire the mini park of Tripoli culture simply by visiting the territory of Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. But this is for extremely lazy ones. Park of Tripoli culture is a landmark of Rzhyshchiv, which still argues for holding this right with the village of Tripoli.
Tripoli culture is really unusual; it still involves a lot of mysteries that do not agree with our views on the primitive community system. It is considered the oldest agricultural culture in Europe. The settlement of poliany, which was located on the site of the modern city center, is as old as the one in Kyiv. Ancient ramparts are preserved here, and in the museum you can see the remnants dated thousands of years. And be sure to visit the flooded church, Ivan Mountain, and archaeological museum of the town.
Park of Tripoli culture is located on 20 Lenin St. You can get to the city by bus, which departs from Vydubychi and Podil bus stations. You can get here by car following the road Kyiv-Kaniv.
Bila Tserkva
The most famous monument of the town situated 90 kilometers away from Kyiv is Alexandria arboretum. The creation of the park was completed in 1793. It was carried out under the supervision of Oleksandra Branytska, the wife of the Crown Hetman of Poland, who presented this land for her. Building plan was designed by the famous French architect Miuffo. Today, there are 25 reservoirs and 2,500 plants in the park.
The length of park rides amounts to 20 km. Columns, a Chinese bridge, antique sculptures. Even seven the monument to Palii found its place in the park.
You can get here by bus departing from the Main Railway Station or Lybidska metro station, a train heading towards Myronivka, or a car the Kyiv-Odessa highway. In Bila Tserkva, you can get to the park a bus No. 13 (from the railway station to Pionerska stop), by bus No. 1 or No. 22 from Svobody Sq. (Pionerska or Gospitalna stop).
During the winter period (from 15 September to 15 April), the park is opened for visitors from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Verkhivnia
There is a joke. When a sick and not really attractive man came out of St. Barbara’s Church in Berdychiv after marrying his young beautiful wife, a local tailor approached him. He watched the suit carefully, asked where it was sewed, and after hearing it was done in Paris, the tailor was surprised, “Look, it is so far from Berdychiv but sewed so well!”. Maybe the tailor didn’t ever exist, but Honore de Balzac (he was that man) really married in Berdychiv. Someone tells that this love of Balzac and Evelina Ganska wasn’t real one. Ganska owned 21 hectares of land around the estate and had 3,000 serfs, and everything the writer had a big debt, which could send him to prison. Just think for yourself. Nevertheless, nowadays, there is Honore de Balzac Literary Memorial Museum in Berdychiv. Ganska’s mansion with a garden still exists, too, but its condition is quite poor after it was used by Soviet authorities. Today, it is the building of the branch of Zhytomyr Agrotechnical College.
It is easier to get here by car – first, go to Bila Tserkva, then to the village Kryvoshyintsi, and turn right. If you are traveling by train, you need to get to Popilnia, and then take a bus or try hitchhiking. Just remember to call the museum if you are planning to go on a weekend. It doesn’t always work.
