Wokkery – Noodles, Cooked With Love
Do you love noodles as much as we do? At the end of the day, or at lunch, or late at night, when you’re hangover or just on any other day, noodles is a perfect meal. No, not Mivina, forget about it! The real Asian noodles, with vegetables, chicken, or maybe even with pork. Or simple vegetable mix for vegans… It all makes my mouth water. And what about you?
Why am I telling all this? Not long ago, we visited our friends at their restaurant Wokkery near Olimpiiska Metro Station. It is a stylish place of eat-to-go format with cozy terrace, from where you can watch the rapid life of morning city. Taking into consideration that I and the photographer were terribly sleepy when we came here, the coffee let us fully wake up.
As soon as we woke up, we realized that it would be great to look around. Chromium details, light wood resembling bamboo, colorful bulbs, and the most important thing – 12 to 15 frying-pans hanging all over the back wall of the restaurant!
So, what is Wokkery distinctive for? Its cuisine, certainly. As the director told us, all cooks are taught by Asian masters chefs. And even if the noodle here is different from exclusively authentic Asian one, none the less, it is adapted to the European visitors at most. The main peculiarity of the place is cooking noodles and rice on the fire, so the vegetables get al-dente (with crust but uncooked inside), preserving everything most useful and tasty.
We were offered to choose among: rice, egg noodles, rice noodles, and udon. Everything could be complemented with meat or vegetables according to your taste, and sesame or any other spices from the menu sprinkled over. The sauce for your noodles or rice comes as a present. Everyone can find the unique combination of tastes according to their mood. As the founders say, the menu will be updated and filled up with different delicious dishes, like salads, soups, mixes, and combos for all tastes and preferences.
Prices here, I would say, are among the most democratic ones in the city. You get 400 gr of tasty useful noodle at 54 UAH. Why did I say useful? Asian cuisine is known for its natural ingredients and lack of salt. And as we’ve already told, Wokkery has tried to make Asia as close to Ukrainian audience as it is possible.
Our verdict: the restaurant is a must-visit place at any time of day or night.
Wokkery: everything will be wOk : )
