Creative association “Black Square”
Once upon a time, back in 1991, one man has created a unique theater improvisation. Long search for truth is not brought Anatoly wherever he was needed. Once he came to school not prepared. In a fit on the floor, he thrust the huge square piece of black fabric on dumb questions and actors responded: “Play what you want. The main thing that was interesting! “.
In this way appeared “Black Square” – the only in Ukraine improvisation theater studio, working on creative principle of “live” acting. The play is born “here and now”, thus it is authentic and unique. The actors and the audience totally involved in the action, which is preferably a surprise for the audience, and for the actors. At the initial stage “Black Square”, more precisely, the former national theater “Comrade” was the theater of vocational training. National Theatre emerged in Soviet times at the Palace of Culture. Specificity was that they were amateur. That is, there could come ordinary people from the street, no theatrical education and become a real actor. Of course the people who came, deeply loved his job (not for nothing called them amateurs).
So it was in “Black Square”. Everything was based solely on the enthusiasm of the founder and members. By the way, all the other similar theaters, so-called folk have long ceased to exist. They once had 24. And the left – the only of its kind in Kiev. Today Creative Union Black Square – is not just a studio theater improvisation known for its clever performances, but also a successful training center, professional art agency and cinema-production. In addition, in 2009 the theater opened children’s theater “black box” and performance project that animates improvisation contemporary works of art.
In the repertory you can view the following performances: “Tales exhausted cities”, “Incredible, but Freud”, “Sex on the beach – not just cocktail”, “Mafia”, “not casual ties”, “Honeymoon”, “Scissors or labyrinths of love “,” Tamara and Demon “and others.
