UK / RAINE: to the Art competition invited young artists
Under Ukrainian days in the UK will host the fourth competition UK / raine. Organizers: cooperation Firtash Foundation and the Saatchi Gallery. Post your job on “Premonition: Ukrainian art today” can be up to 20 October.
Last year, from October 9 to November 3 this competition presented widest Ukrainian contemporary art in the UK. At the final exhibition was presented about 80 works of 38 artists. In 2014 the exhibition has got into the top 20 most visited: almost 138,000 (about 5.5 thousand. People every day!).
“Premonition” is part of the Days of Ukraine at the festival in Britain, and so Firtash Foundation supports and promotes the Ukrainian culture abroad. The competition is the first open to talented young artists from Ukraine or the United Kingdom (or born in the country) aged 18 to 35, including students.
Artists must provide their work through the website SaatchiGallery.com in one of the categories:
- Street art;
- Painting;
- installations;
- New media (including photo and video art);
- Sculpture.
The prize fund is £ 75,000. There are 10 winners get a thousand categories 20,000 – the main winner, and 5 thousand – the audience award. In addition, 30 artists (six from each category) will exhibit their work in one of the most famous galleries in the world – Saatchi Gallery in London from November 24, 2015 to January 3, 2016.
Winners will determine international jury, founder of Asia Art Archive Johnson Chang, CEO of Saatchi Gallery Nigel Hurst, Minister of Culture of Thailand and Apinan Poshyanda Ukrainian author and curator Alexander Solovyov. The decision will be announced at the presentation of the exhibition and of the closed VIP-view November 23, 2015 in London.
