Today is the birthday of Ukrainian animation
Today marks 89 years of Ukrainian animation. In 1927, the first Ukrainian cartoons were dropped. In Kiev, it was the cartoon “Ukrainization” and “The Tale of steers straw” of the Odessa Film Studio. However, after World War II Ukrainian animation almost disappeared from world history. She again revived thanks to the director and the artist Hippolyte Lazarchuk to “Kievnauchfilm”. He, in 1959, created a cartoon “The Adventures of Pepper,” and later, in 1965, one of the main cartoon of that time – “Nikita the Tanner.” However, the real breakthrough was the series of cartoons in the world Ukrainian animation “As Cossacks …” by director Vladimir Dykhne, released in 1967.
Not retreating and female directors. Alexandra Snezhko-Blotskaya became director of several iconic Soviet cartoons, including “Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece”, “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi”, “Cat who walks by himself”, “Humpbacked Horse”, “Geese -lebedi ” and others.
